The *Hoyte Decker Memorial Day Tri is here again along with the advent of spring. Date and Time: 5/27 at 6:15 a.m. (transition opens at 6:00 a.m.)
This is your opportunity to shake off the cobwebs, gain a little confidence, gently return from an injury, or have a first go at a tri event.
This event is not a race but a workout. There are no clocks, no DQs, no trophies or T-shirts, no stress or fuss. There is plenty of fun, and race support is provided on the swim and bike.

There is no fee event
The event is an approximate .25-.5 mile swim in the Lewes Bay (wetsuit recommended this time of year), a 15 bike loop, and a 5k. It is followed by a great breakfast get together at The Ocean Point Grill.
We will park in the Lewes Beach parking lot (just past Dairy Queen). We should be done before meters begin at 9:00. Security for personal items is provided only during the swim, so bike locks are strongly suggested for the run. Bike support provided for flats and other minor mechanical issues. The run course is described but not marked and you must provide your own hydration.
This race is very flexible. Each year we have participants that are dealing with injuries, lacking equipment, or simply elect to alter the events slightly. For example, instead of swimming you can make it a duathlon, if you want to skip the ride go directly to the run, or instead of running you can walk. Make the event your own. The goal here is to participate and have fun.
If the weather is uncertain, any decisions will be made on site that morning. Hopefully it will be a beautiful day. We always have breakfast rain or shine!
